Transfer update : PSG continue to dream of signing Kante

Image
PSG   latest projects is to 'Frenchify' its staff and squad as much as possible. Along with signing world-class players, such as Neymar, there must be a quota of French footballers, the best of the best, like Kylian Mbappe. In other words, Unai Emery's side want to be the backbone of 'Les Bleus' and to achieve this, they must sign the best.  There is no midfielder better than Chelsea's N'Golo Kante. According to reports in 'L'Equipe', the French leaders will go with all their firepower to secure his signature next summer. An ambitious plan, but nothing new, with PSG having been linked with a move for the diminutive midfielder in the past. Kante emerged as one of the best midfielders in English football after winning a shock Premier League crown with Leceister City in 2016, before firmly cementing his place among the best by securing a second winner's medal, this time with his current employers, last year.  The French player h...

PSG football club lure in fans with escape games

Paris Saint-Germain are making the idea that football is part of the entertainment industry central to their strategy as they strive to become a “global brand” and attract new fans.  In pursuit of the worldwide ambitions of their Qatari owners, PSG are not just recruiting global football stars such as Neymar, but are also multiplying partnerships outside sport and moving into music, fashion, cinema, e-Sport and even “escape games”. In early December, club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi took his squad to pose for the cameras with Mickey and Minnie the day after PSG beat Lille, and just as the Most Valuable Player at the Super Bowl did for many years, they went to Disneyland to celebrate.  Now, the club has turned its stadium Parc des Princes into a theme park, hosting an “immersive” escape game called “Inside PSG” on non-matchdays into at least April. The idea is not new. Lyon were the first French football club to organise this type of game at a sports venue, but PSG h...

PSG want to sell Guedes in January

Image
Goncalo Guedes has been one of the stars of the 2017/18 LaLiga season and Paris Saint-Germain, who loaned him to Valencia last August, are keen to cash in on his success. The fact that the Ligue 1 side are under Financial Fair Play pressure to sell, given how much they've spent on Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, means that they are studying their options, with the Parisians eager to move the 21-year-old on this January, rather than wait until his loan deal - which did not include a purchase option - expires at the end of the season. Valencia are one of the clubs rumoured to be interested in signing the player on a permanent basis and Le Parisien reported in December that they were going to buy him for 35 million euros.  However, PSG need to sell him as soon as possible and there are other clubs interested. Valencia are looking for a way to come up with what PSG want, even if the French club have not yet stated their asking price.  Ultimately, the smal...
