An interesting game approaches as Spurs have an easy opportunity of entering top four rankings; as they are up against out-of-shape Southampton, who has been struggling throughout the season.

Recent Performance

Tottenham Hotspur: In their last five games, Spurs won four games and lost only one. Their recent away encoutner with Burnley was a dominating 0-3 win. Tottenham Hotspur faced a trashing 4-1 defeat in an away game against Manchester City. They defeated Brighton with dominating 2-0 at home. Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed anotehr dominating 5-1 home win against Stoke City. They recently clashed with APOEL Nicosia at home in UEFA and registered a 3-0 maiden win.

Southampton: Recnet run of Southampton in the Premier League is pretty bad. In their last five games, they lost two games and three were draws. Their recent home game with Huddersfield Town was a 1-1 draw. Southampton faced a 1-0 defeat against Chelsea in an away game. They faced yet another trashing 1-4 defeat against Leicester City at home. Their home game against Arsenal was a 1-1 draw. Southampton’s away game against Bournemouth was as well a struggling 1-1 draw.

Burnley hold Manchester City at Turf Moor

It was a physical encounter with the home side’s players being on the receiving end, in comparison to previous matches involving Man City, of some hefty challenges. Ashley Barnes, Sam Vokes, Nick Pope and Phil Bardsley all had to receive treatment in the first-half for various niggles but thankfully were all okay to continue. Manchester City continued their theme of dominancewhich was visible against Cardiff and West Brom, seeing the vast majority of possession and chances in the first 45 minutes but unusually lacked the final product to take advantage. Transfer update : Arsenal want Riyad Mahrez to replace Alexis Sanchez

Arsenal are interested in luring Riyad Mahrez to Emirates Stadium in the January window as they look for a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, according to Le Buteur.  The Chilean is keen on joining Premier League rivals Manchester City, with both clubs currently in negotiations over a deal. Arsene Wenger has identified Mahrez, who has also been linked with Liverpool, as the ideal replacement, with Leicester City looking to receive €55 million from any potential sale.
